Who’s ready to play?

Outdoor facilities at RCC are now open.

We have recently received word from the staff at Richardson Community Center that they are now permitting the use of the outdoor sports facilities at their location. The indoor gym remains closed until further notice.

The pickleball advisory committee has decided for the time being that it is still too tricky to offer any structured play opportunities. Instead, we encourage players to make their own arrangements to play using their own equipment. The USAPA has published a guide to help minimize the chance of infection when playing. I encourage you to read it before returning to the courts.

Please bear in mind there are no lights at the outdoor courts and very little shelter if the weather should change. You should bring your own chairs and refreshments. Play will be first come, first served, but if a committee member is present, we will have access to additional nets for play inside the tennis enclosure should the demand arise.

As a reminder, there is one dedicated pickleball court and one pickleball practice area outside the tennis enclosure that is available at all times until the sun goes down.

Help finding games

For the benefit of players who wish to find partners to play with, we invite you to join our WhatsApp chat called Pickleball Hotline. WhatsApp is a chat app you can download onto your iPhone or Android phone, and once you are logged in, you can request membership in the chat. As of this writing, there are 16 other players in the chat, and it can be a convenient way to let others know when you are available to play.
