Richardson outdoor court update

We are getting closer to seeing the completion of the outdoor court project behind Richardson Community Center. The area has been resurfaced and fenced in; all that is left is for the courts to be painted and nets to be brought in.

RCC has devoted the fenced-in area to be a dual-use area. There will be 1 tennis court with a permanent net and lines painted for 4 pickleball courts occupying the same space as the tennis court (see diagram).

As of right now, there will be no lights in this enclosure for play after the sun goes down. The space will be available to pickleball players for open play times to be determined.

Additionally, there are plans for a dedicated court in the space available between the fenced enclosure and the resurfaced basketball court. Although there are limitations to having the court in an unenclosed area, we are grateful to have the opportunity for a permanent space that can be used by anyone who wants to play any time during daylight hours.
